President of the German Football Association (DFB) Theo Zwanziger (L), head coach of the German national team Joachim Löw (2nd L), Hannover 96 former and current presidents Fritz Willig (2nd R) and Martin Kind pay their respects as they lay a wreath to commemorate the first anniversary of the death of Robert Enke, at Empede cemetery in Hannover November 10, 2010. Germany and Hannover 96 goalkeeper Enke committed suicide by jumping in front of an express train on November 10, 2009 after years of battling depression. He was 32.
“Robert Enke, a tough national team goalkeeper, had weaknesses. We must be prepared not to make these weaknesses into taboos but instead lift them from their silence,” said Zwanziger in a statement.
