The Argentine championship is gathering pace, with Colon de Santa Fe scoring a 3:0 win over 10th-placed San Lorenzo in the latest action. The club is now in second position in the standings.

Esteban Fuertes (pictured) had a double in the match. He earned almost 25 rating points and is amongst the best Argentine forwards with 86.75 points. Nicolas Torres scored the third for Colon.

The leader Lanus lost by the same score to Huracan, but they retained their top spot. Javier Pastore had a double, while Gaston Esmerado added the third for Huracan. Huracan is now in fourth position. Independiente also won 4:1 against Newell’s Old Boys.

Reigning champions Boca Juniors have yet to find their best form and are in 7th place. Their match against Tigre ended in a goalless draw.
