Fergie - No retirement plans

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has stressed that he is not even thinking about retiring.

The 68-year-old became the longest serving manager in United history last week, after taking charge in 1986.

He previously intended to step down some nine years ago before famously deciding against leaving his post.

Ferguson has since refused to put be drawn on exactly when he may step aside from the helm, and he insists that he is still not even thinking about leaving.

"The older you get the more worried you are about retiring," he told MUTV.

"You start to realise that whilst you have got your health and good fitness, you should carry on in your job.

"All thoughts of retirement are in the back of my mind.

"It (saying he was going to go) was a mistake. At the time there were some reasons for it. It was one of those things."
