Tottenham have confirmed the signing of Steven Pienaar (pictured; 62.51 points FTBL Rating) from the English Premier League rivals Everton on a four-and-a-half-year contract.
The South Africa international midfielder revealed earlier in the day on his Twitter feed that he had reached an agreement with the White Hart Lane side.
And the North London side have now stated that the deal has been rubber-stamped, for a fee believed to be in the region of £3 million.
Everton had been eager to keep Pienaar at Goodison Park but with his contract due to expire in the summer they became resigned to selling him in January rather than losing him for nothing in the summer after he snubbed their new contract offer.
Delighted
Chelsea were also interested in the former Ajax and Borussia Dortmund player and had previously reached an agreement with the Toffees, only for the deal to fall through over personal terms.
However, there were no such problems for Harry Redknapp's side, who were able to strike an accord with the 28-year-old once their bid was accepted by Everton.
A statement on Tottenham's official website read: "We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with Everton and Steven Pienaar for the player's transfer to the club."
