Cagliari president Massimo Cellino has confirmed that goalkeeper Federico Marchetti (30.21 points FTBL reiting) is poised to join Genoa.
The Italy international has fallen out of favour at Cagliari this season following remarks he made last summer about wanting to move to Sampdoria.
A number of clubs have been credited with an interest in Marchetti but it is Serie A rivals Genoa who look set to secure his services before the close of the transfer window.
"I have just spoken with (Genoa president) Enrico Preziosi and I gave him our availability for the agreement established with the player," said Cellino.
"Therefore if the player is happy, and I think he is, he will join Genoa."
Lazzari
Midfielder Andrea Lazzari is another Cagliari player to have been linked with a move elsewhere and AC Milan were thought to be leading the chase.
However, Cellino has not been in contact with Rossoneri vice-president Adriano Galliani since revealing he would allow Lazzari to leave for the right price.
"There is no news. I never heard again
