Barcelona literally took Bayern Munich apart in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal. For his part in the rout Cameroonian Samuel Eto’o (pictured) edged closer to the 200-point barrier. His current rating is 193.01, and he is the only one of the world’s leading strikers not to have passed 200.
Eto’o scored one of the goals in the 4-0 win, but he gained only 3.14 points in the match, as he was faced with a target of 28.51 points, which he earned in Barcelona’s 5-2 defeat of Lille on 11 March. However, Eto’o now only needs to gain 2.79 points in the next match against Recreativo, which will be a lot easier.
Thierry Henry, who also scored, increased his rating by 13.10 points, and now has 218.17 points to his credit. And Lionel Messi’s two goals propelled him to a gain of 23.55 points, putting him in second place among the world’s best midfielders with195.03 points.
That list is quietly led by none other than Barca midfielder Xavi, who gained 22.20 points in the match thanks to the efforts of his team-mates. Xavi currently has 199.40 points.
