Marseille consolidated their leadership in the French Ligue 1 with a 2:1 victory over Lorient. Brazilian Brandao (pictured) scored the winner, as he has done in the past four games.
The Brazilian striker added 25 rating points to his tally in the game. He now has 143.92 points and is second only to Lyon’s Karim Benzema in the rating of best players of the Ligue 1.
Lyon succumbed home (1:0) to Bordeaux in a crucial game that could yet decide the title this season. The Girondins are now in second place in the standings. Alou Diarra was behind the winning goal. He earned 27.55 rating points and, with 119.31 points over all, tops the list of best halfbacks in the Ligue 1.
Paris Saint-Germain, after a 3:0 win over Le Havre, appear unwilling just yet to give up the fight for the title. The race for the title in the Ligue 1 is shaping up to produce an exciting end.
