The Danish Ligaen is in the thick of an epic battle for the championship, with second-placed Odense Boldklub thrashing second-from-bottom Vejle 5:0, while Randers FC demolished AC Horsens 5:1.

The ratings of leading players in the league shot up after the huge wins, with Odense’s Nigerian forward Peter Utaka (pictured right) earning 12.14 rating points thanks to a double. He now has an overall rating of 38.68 points and has joined the Top 23 of the Ligaen.

Midfielder Hans Henrik Andreason, who scored one of Odense’s five goals, also boosted his rating by 8.66 points to 44.49 points over all. This has vaulted him into the top of the rating of midfielders.

Randers FC forward Marc Nygaard, who scored one of the five goals conceded by AC Horsens, earned 8.62 points, taking his overall rating to 38.60 points. He now tops the list of best forwards of the Ligaen.

The huge win pushed Odense into second place in the standings. But F.C. Copenhagen could very well change the equation once again if they also beat Horsens on Saturday. They could then tie for first place with current leaders Brøndby IF.
