Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas inched ever closer to the three leaders in our rating of best midfielders of the English Premier League after his double in the Gunners’ 2:0 win over relegation-threatened Middlesbrough Sunday.
Fabregas, after racking in 22.05 rating points in the game, is now trailing only Man United star midfielder Cristiano Ronaldo (221.98 points), Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard (185.90 points), who has been sidelined due to an injury, and Chelsea’s Frank Lampard (174.91 points).
Fabregas grabbed the winner for the Gunners after a brilliant assist from Russian international Andrei Arshavin. Arsenal star forward Emmanuel Adebayor spent a little more than 20 minutes on the pitch only to lose 22.20 rating points, allowing Arshavin to ascend to his fifth place in our rating of best forwards of the English Premier League.
