One of the central fixtures in the Russian Premier League this weekend will be the clash between Spartak Moscow and Dynamo. Spartak will need rehabilitation after the stinging 0:3 defeat they suffered at the hands Dynamo. Spartak currently seem to have the means to do just that.
Defender Martin Stranzl joined the FTBL list of best defenders of the Russian league after Spartak’s 2:0 win over Rubin. The Austrian scored one of the goals in the match, earning 15 rating points in the process. Stranzl now has 52.28 points and is second in the rating of Austrian midfielders behind Rapid Wien’s Erwin Hoffer (84.12 points).
Dynamo’s Aleksandr Kerzhakov, who tops the rating of forwards, will be hard at work against the Spartak defense. Kerzhakov currently has 93.89 points.
“[Manager] Romantsev’s hand begins to be felt at Spartak,” said Kerzhakov. “Spartak’s transformation is out for everyone to see, and it will be quite difficult for us to play against them.”
