Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney (pictured left) has regained the top spot in our FTBL rating of best world forwards after lying in wait for two months. The change in leadership was effected by former leader David Villa’s poor performance in the Valencia-Espanyol game in La Liga.
Despite playing the entire game, Villa performance poorly and could not find the net, while his side lost 0:3. The flop led to a loss of 26.87 rating points for Villa. He now has just 191.19 points over all. Rooney, who lost just 1 rating point in the Manchester United-Middlesbrough game (2:0), has now moved into first place. He has 210.74 points over all.
Rooney first moved into the top spot of our FTBL World Top 23 back in March in fierce competition with Real Madrid forward Raul. The Spaniard has since exited the Top 23.
