The second Champions League finalist will be decided tonight in the Chelsea – Barcelona Clash at Stamford Bridge, with much hanging on the performances of the sides’ goalkeepers, Petr Cech and Victor Valdes (pictured). The two trail Manchester United’s Edwin van der Sar, who with 148.81 points, extended his lead after the Red Devils' elimination of Arsenal.
Valdes will have to keep his slate clean if he wants to maintain his third position in our FTBL rating: his plank to beat is 14.60 rating points. Petr Cech has a slightly less difficult task, since his plank is just 11 rating points.
Number-two placed Cech, with 123.41 points over all, is just a few points ahead of Valdes, who has a perfect chance to add to his tally of 121.24 points and overtake his rival.
The two stand little chance of toppling first-placed van der Sar. To do that, they will have to stop three penalties in the game or in OT, a far-off scenario at the very least.
