Shakhtar Donetsk’s Dmytro Chegrinskiy, the leader in our FTBL rating of best defenders in the Ukrainian league, could lose his top spot in today’s match against Dynamo Kyiv to his teammate Oleksandr Kucher. The gap between the two amounts to just 4 rating points.

Chigrinskiy currently has 51.35 points over all, while Kucher is second with 47.55 points. Chigrinskiy will have to redeem himself after his own goal against Kyiv, with a plank of 11.95 rating points to beat, while Kuchera needs just 6.65 rating points. This means that Chigrinskiy will have to score to hang on to his leadership in the ratings.

Kucher will have a presumably much easier task because, aside from not taking part in the 2:0 win against Marseille, he earned his bonus in Shakhtar’s 3:0 win over Arsenal in Ukrainian league action, where bonuses are, understandably, much smaller.
