Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta’s goal against Chelsea in the Champions League semi-final return leg that allowed his side to clinch a 1:1 draw and a place in the final earned the Spaniard a modest 4.96 rating points.
With 153.37 points over all, Iniesta has moved up in the rating of best world midfielders from 7th to 5th place.
But the dramatic nature of Barcelona’s win made sure that Iniesta’s teammates Victor Valdes, who was third in the rating of goalkeepers, and Samuel Eto’o, who was last in the rating of forwards, all exited the FTBL Top 23.
The last-minute draw, despite taking the Catalans into the final, did little to improve their personal ratings.
