Despite Manchester United’s 2:1 win over Wigan yesterday, England international Wayne Rooney (pictured right) could not retain his position in our FTBL World Top 23 for forwards.
Rooney, whose performance left much to be desired, was unable to score and duly lost 15.10 rating points to exit our World Top 23 for forwards altogether. He now has just 177.96 points over all. He has been replaced by Barcelona striker and Cameroon international Samuel Eto’o, who now has 184.15 points over all after scoring on Sunday against Villarreal.
Meanwhile, John O’Shea, another Manchester United star, is back in our Top 23 for defenders after picking up 8.91 rating points in the Premier League game against Wigan. The Ireland international now has 120.36 points and ranks sixth in our rating of world best defenders.
