A winning goal in the dying minutes against visiting Real Madrid allowed Villarreal left-back Capdevila (pictured) to grab the first spot in the FTBL rating of defenders in La Liga.

Capdevila used a fumble by Iker Casillas to fire toward the far post, earning Villarreal hard-fought 3:2 home win.

Capdevila earned 12.96 rating points, and with 115.17 over all, he has taken the lead in our rating of defenders in La Liga ahead of Barcelona’s Dani Alves, as well as that of Spanish defenders, ahead of Carles Puyol.
