Portuguese star midfielder Luis Figo returned in Inter Milan’s starting lineup against Sienna on Sunday to seal another Serie A title for the Nerazzurri with a 3:0 win and join our Top 23 for veterans. The 37-year-old was substituted at the 62nd minute but still earned 10 rating points for his effort to take his rating to 49.50 points over all.
Figo pushed down Russia’s Andrei Tikhonov, who has 48.31 points over all, in his re-entry into the elite.
It is worth noting the rise of another veteran, Boca Juniors forward Martin Palermo, who earned 10.02 rating points after scoring another goal to climb from 4th place in the rating to 2nd. Former France international Robert Pires of Villarreal also earned a high 14.65 rating points this past weekend. He now has 66.85 points over all and has climbed from 7th place to 4th place in our rating of best veteran midfielders.
