A clash for a place in European football next season is sure to take place today when FC Groningen meet FC Utrecht in the Dutch league. The first game between the two ended in a 3:3 draw, with a hat-trick from Groningen’s Swedish forward Marcus Berg. The Swede earned 19 rating points in that game and entered the FTBL Top 23 for forwards.
Berg currently has 98.46 points over all and is behind only Inter Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Bremen’s Markus Rosenberg in the FTBL rating of Swedish forwards. Berg will have a golden opportunity to boost his numbers in the coming game: his plank to beat is just 3.60 rating points.
Another encounter will pit Feyenoord against NAC Breda. Feyenoord’s forward Roy Makaay will have to try hard to beat this plank of 16.88 rating points in the game. He scored form the spot in the first game, but Feyenoord still lost 2:3. Makaay lost approximately 20 rating points then. He currently has 104.17 points over all, and he could lose his top spot to Berg after the coming game.
