Lyon forward and France international Karim Benzema (pictured left) grabbed the top spot in the FTBL rating of Ligue 1 forwards from Bordeaux’s Yoann Gourcuff in addition to the stop spot in the FTBL overall rating for the French league after his side’s somewhat nervous 3:1 win over Caen on Saturday.
Benzema earned 21 rating points to boost his over all rating to 163.32 points, slightly ahead of Bordeaux’s Gourcuff’s 162.40 points.
Auxerre’s Polish forward Ireneusz Jelen climbed to 2nd place in the rating with 158.80 points over all after scoring his side’s only goal in the game against Saint Etienne (1:0). Former rating leader Marouane Chamakh of Bordeaux has slipped to 3rd place with 156.54 points over all.
