Barcelona’s Belarus midfielder Alieksandr Hleb was given a chance in the starting lineup on Saturday against Asasuna but was unable to capitalize on it as the Catalans lost 0:1 and Hleb lost rating points.
Hleb, whose career has been adrift for a while now, has a rating of just 39.08 points. Just two weeks ago the former Gunner led in the FTBL rating of Belarus players, but he is now not even amongst the best. The rating is led by Vitali Kutuzov (who plays for Bari in the Italian Serie B) with 51.58 points, followed by Yuri Zhevnov of FC Moskva in the Russian Premier League with 51.07 points. Hleb ranks just 5th.
Cameroon international Samuel Eto’o was the only first-team player in the starting lineup for Barcelona. Eto’o lost 20 rating points after setting a very high plank of 23 rating points for himself in the 6:2 trashing of Real Madrid. Eto’o, who currently has 176.82 points over all, remains the best rated African player.
