Universitatea Craiova forward Florin Costea (pictured) has emerged as the new, unexpected rival of Fiorentina’s celebrated forward Adrian Mutu in the FTBL rating of Romanian players.
Mutu currently tops the FTBL rating of Romanian forwards and that of Romanian players irrespective of their position with 105.24 points over all. But he has been sidelined by an injury for two months running.
In the meantime, Costea has scored seven times for his side in his last four appearances, capping the extraordinarily productive run by a hat-trick in the 3:0 win over Rapid Bucuresti. Costea has earned 70.85 rating points in those appearances alone to take his overall rating to 103.91 points, suddenly seriously threatening Mutu’s long-held lead.
