West Ham United and England goalkeeper Robert Green (pictured) re-claimed the top spot in the FTBL rating of British goalkeepers after his country’s 4:0 trashing of Kazakhstan in a World Cup 2010 qualifier on June 6.
Twenty-nine-year-old Green picked up a high 16 rating points to boost his tally to 74.06 points, the highest rating of any British goalkeeper. Green ranks 25th the FTBL rating of the world’s best goalkeepers.
Former chart leader Joe Hart of Manchester City has slid to 2nd place with 61.09 points over all. Interestingly, Manchester United’s third goalkeeper Ben Foster is in third place with 55.80 points over all, despite a lack of playtime: our system took into account just 5 appearances for Foster against 62 for Green and 46 for Hart
