Spain’s 1:0 win over Iraq in the Confed Cup in South Africa has allowed Barcelona playmaker Xavi (pictured) to move to 3rd place in the FTBL Top 23 of the world’s best midfielders, pushing down Real Madrid’s new sign superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
Xavi picked up 7.38 rating points in the game and, with an overall rating of 189.40 points, has moved to just a few points from second-placed Steven Gerrard of Liverpool (190.65 points).
To grab the 2nd spot in the rating Xavi will have to score at least a goal in the coming game against South Africa; he will have a high plank of 24 rating points to beat.
