The Confed Cup in South Africa is proving to be a godsend for Inter Milan right-back Maicon rating-wise, as the Brazil international has used the competition to dramatically boost his rating to 118 points and return in the FTBL World Top 23.

Maicon has picked up a little over 41 rating points in his last two appearances alone, a remarkable feat for any defender. The 3:0 victory over Italy powered him past Barcelona’s Brazil international Dani Alves in the rating. He could even overtake Bayern Munich's Lucio, another one of his partners in the Brazilian defense, in the coming game: the two will have a similar plank of 14.60 rating points to beat in the semi-final against hosts South Africa.
