Liverpool’s Argentine midfielder Javier Mascherano, who is reportedly being pursued by Barcelona, currently has an FTBL rating of 130.32 points, second only to Lionel Messi among Argentinean players, but a move to join the Catalans could end with him playing second fiddle to the stars in the midfield at the Camp Nou.

Despite his mooted price tag of approximately 30 million euro, Mascherano is behind four current Barcelona players in our rating: Messi, Xavi (161.48 points), and Yaya Toure (135.75 points). It looks, though, as if Toure, who was acquired in 2007 for a mere 9 million euro, might have to leave the club.
