Inter Milan have unveiled some of their new recruits, among them Argentine striker Diego Milito (pictured), who was number two on the top strikers' list in the Serie A last season with 24 goals, brought in from Genoa.
The Argentina international seems to have been bought to parry an eventual exit of star striker and Sweden international Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is the target of Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid. Ibrahimovic ended last season in the Italian league as the top scorer with 25 goals.
Both players are firmly at the top of the FTBL Top 23 of Serie A forwards, with the Swede having an overall rating of 197.45 points to the Argentine’s 151.91 points. Ibrahimovic is also in the lead by the +/- index (+45 against +2), but Milito is ahead by the individual contribution to the rating (34.7% against 30.7%).
Given the fact that Milito is liable to be better assisted at Inter than he was at Genoa, there is ground to believe he would be able to fill the void in case Ibrahimovic leaves.
