Palmeiras’ goalkeeper Marcos (pictured right) has finally put an end to the rule of São Paulo’s longtime keeper and former Brazil international Rogério Ceni (pictured left) at the top of the FTBL ranking of goalkeepers in the Brazilian Serie A.
Ceni, who has not played an official game since last December, has nonetheless retained the lead in the FTBL ranking of keepers in the league for about a month and a half with an overall tally of 65.88 points.
Marcos, who stayed in the wings until last weekend, was able to take his tally to the 70-point mark and topple Ceni. But Palmeiras’ 1:2 loss to Goiás slightly ate at the number, reducing it to 68.84 points over all.
Marco has also grabbed Ceni’s 3rd place in our ranking of Brazilian goalkeepers. Inter Milan’s Júlio César remains the best Brazilian goalkeeper with 145.39 points, followed by FC Porto’s Helton with 71.99 points.
