Manchester City have finalized a deal with Arsenal defender Kolo Touré (pictured), The Times reports. If the two teams strike accord on a fee, the Cote d’Ivoire international should have no serious difficulties finding a place in the first team at City.
Touré, who has an overall FTBL rating of 61.23 points at the moment, ranks higher than any current City defender, bar Richard Dunne, who tallies at 67.90 points. The two would likely pair to create a central axis in defense and spare City some of the embarrassments they had to endure last season.
A rival to the Touré-Dunne tandem could be Belgium international Vincent Kompany who, with an overall FTBL rating of 58.39 points at the moment, is second among defenders. Kompany has a better +/- indicator than Dunne (+25 against +15).
