Arsenal are close to signing Chelsea’s Cote d’Ivoire international Salomon Kalou (pictured), according to sports news channel ESPN. If the two sides agree on a fee, Kalou will be poised to play a leading role at the Emirates Stadium.
The Code d’Ivoire striker has an overall FTBL rating of 117.42 points at the moment and ranks 3rd among forwards at Stamford Bridge, behind French international Nicolas Anelka (175.32 points) and fellow Ivorian Didier Drogba (154.84 points). Kalou, therefore, has not exactly had a lot of playtime with the Blues, despite his obvious talents.
On the other hand, the recent departure of Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor has left the Gunners with just two real forwards in Russian international Andrei Arshavin (134.09 points) and Dutch star Robin van Persie (133.95 points). The addition of a striker of the caliber of Kalou could do the Gunners only good.
