The transfer of AS Roma midfielder Alberto Aquilani (pictured) to Liverpool was made official today. The Italy international, who had a poor season due to frequent injuries, could expect to have a tough time carving a role for himself at Anfield Road.
With an overall FTBL rating of just 44.35 points at the moment, Aquilani trails almost all of his potential rivals at Liverpool: skipper Steven Gerrard, with 181.64 points, is the best midfielder in the world at the moment, while Argentine Javier Mascherano has 127.57 points. Even Brazilian Lucas Leiva, who comes in from the bench, has a rating of 102.65 points.
To the credit of the Italian, it is worth noting that his individual contribution to the rating of 14.1% is far higher that Mascherano’s (1.1%) and Leiva’s (2.6%).
