Chelsea yesterday avoided losing a point (2:1) at Stamford Bridge against Hull City thanks to a double by striker Didier Drogba (pictured). The Cote d’Ivoire international first leveled the score from a dipping free-kick in the 37th minute, before netting the winner two minutes into injury time.
The effort earned Drogba 20.55 rating points, lifting his overall rating to 175.09 points. He is now in 4th place in the FTBL ranking of Premier League strikers, behind Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney (183.35 points), Liverpool’s Dirk Kyut (182.40 points) and Fernando Torres (179.48 points), who will all begin their Premier League campaign today.
Drogba is now 10th in the FTBL world ranking of forwards, approximately 10 rating points from the leader. He will have to earn at least 24 rating points in the next game to engineer a return into the top tier of our world ranking.
