Russian international Andrei Arshavin (pictured right) will debut with Arsenal in the Champions League as they travel tonight to Glasgow to face Celtic in the qualification round.
The Russian will face a plank of 15.50 rating points to beat, a mark he set against Portsmouth last season with the Gunners’ a 3:0 win. But the game against Celtic promises to be trickier, and we accordingly rate such games Category 4 in our system, while Premier League games are rated Category 5.
To return into the lead in the FTBL ranking of forwards at Arsenal, Arshavin will have to score as many goals as possible, and a single game will obviously not be enough: Robin van Persie, the highest rated Gunner at the moment, will have a plank of just 4.50 rating points to beat, and any victory will further boost his personal rating. Therefore, Arshavin will have to beat the Dutch international to the punch by scoring more goals.
The Russian international currently has an overall FTBL rating of 142.53 points against van Persie’s 150.29 points.
