Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson this coming Saturday will have another opportunity to test new recruit Michael Owen (pictured left) on the battlefield when the Red Devils travel to Wigan Athletic. Owen, who is with United on a pay-as-you-play basis, has yet to prove whether he still has the flair that once made him one of England’s most talked-about players.
With an FTBL rating of just 46.63 rating points at the moment, the former England international could do himself a big favor by scoring in the game: he will be guaranteed a bonus of 0.10 rating points if United win and could then overtake young Italian striker Federico Macheda (59.18 points) in the FTBL ranking of United strikers.
Owen has played in United’s first two games of the season, so far with little success. To avoid losing Sir Alex Ferguson’s trust, he might have to start thinking about scoring soon.
In the meantime, Wayne Rooney (184.77 points) and Dimitar Berbatov (107.21 points) continue to lead in the FTBL ranking of Manchester United strikers.
