Wolfsburg’s Bosnian international Edin Dzeko (pictured) has overtaken Atlético Madrid’s Uruguayan Diego Forlán as the world’s number one striker in the FTBL Ranking after the latter’s long reign of approximately four months.
In the battle for the top spot, both players are showing impressive consistency, with the Bosnian slightly edging past his rival: in their last five appearances, Dzeko has picked up 130.63 rating points against Forlán’s 101.72!
The Uruguayan was undone by the daunting plank he faced in the second leg of the Champions League playoff game against Panathiniakos; he dropped 49.72 rating points, despite Atlético Madrid’s 2:0 home win. Forlán has now retreated to 3rd place, behind Dzeko and Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney.
The most prestigious of all FTBL rankings now looks as follows: Wolfsburg’s Edin Dzeko in fist place with 217.76 points, Wayne Rooney in 2nd with 209.62 points, and Diego Forlán in 3rd with a tally of 198.42 points.
