Manchester United’s England international Wayne Rooney (pictured far left) captured the number one spot in the FTBL World Ranking of forwards with a tally of 203.51 as former leader Edin Dzeko of Wolfsburg crashed at Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga (0:3), dropping approximately 45 rating points!
Rooney managed the coup by scoring from the penalty spot as United downed Arsenal 2:1 in Premier League action yesterday. The goal helped Rooney cut his losses to just 6 rating points.
In the meantime, the Valencia vs Sevilla encounter in La Liga could yet decide how long Rooney keeps the top spot in the FTBL ranking as Valencia’s star strikers David Villa and Luís Fabiano take to the pitch tonight. If the two produce strong performances, Ronney could be pushed down.
