Barcelona’s France international Thierry Henry fell short of a return in the top tier of the FTBL World Ranking of strikers despite scoring the only goal for France in their World Cup 2010 qualifier against Romania at home (1:1). With a reward of just 8.28 rating points, Henry could find comfort only in the FTBL’s European Top 23 of strikers.
Henry now has an overall FTBL rating of 167.15 points and is in 5th place in our ranking of European strikers, just ahead of Chelsea’s Nicolas Anelka (164.30 points). The Chelsea point man dropped more than 6 rating points as a result of the draw against Romania and lost his top spot in our ranking of French strikers to Henry.
Sevilla defender Julien Escudé, whose own goal cost the French 2 precious points, lost 8 rating points in our system. The French now trail group leaders Serbia by 4 points.
