Barcelona’s Xavi displaced teammate Lionel Messi from the 2nd position in the FTBL World Ranking of midfielders as Spain trashed Belgium 5:0 in their World Cup qualifier, while Argentina suffered a 1:3 home defeat at he hands of five-time winners Brazil.
Xavi picked up 7 rating points with the national squad to boost his overall FTBL rating to 166.66 points and move up to second position in the ranking behind Chelsea’s Frank Lampard (201.98 points).
Messi, on the other hand, dropped a whopping 28 rating points, slumping from the 2nd spot to the 4th with a tally of 150.46 points. Chelsea’s Germany skipper Michael Ballack now ranks ahead of Messi on that chart, in 3rd place with 151.7 points.
