Chelsea’s England international Frank Lampard, the highest rated player in the FTBL ranking with 201.98 points at the moment, will go into England’s game against Croatia facing a plank of 36 rating points to beat: the plank derives from England’s 6:0 drubbing of Andorra in which Lampard scored a goal.

In the FTBL World Ranking of midfielders Lampard reigns supreme at the top, with the closest rival, Spain’s Xavi, trailing by a whopping 35 rating points at 166.66 points. But Xavi, who will have a lower plank to beat in Spain’s game against Estonia, will be looking to take advantage of the much weaker opponent to reduce the gap.

In the FTBL ranking of England midfielders, Lampard also sits comfortably at the top: his nearest rival, Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard has an overall FTBL rating of just 133.33 points. He can rest assured he will not lose the battle on that front.
