Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué continues his ascent in the FTBL World Ranking of defenders: in his last two appearances, he has managed to not only break into the World Top 23, but also topple Chelsea’s John Terry from the helm of our ranking of defenders.
After the Catalans’ 2:0 win over Getafe in La Liga action yesterday, Piqué picked up 5 rating points in our system to boost his FTBL rating to 136.53 points and overtake Terry (135.93 points) as the world’s top defender.
Terry fell short of his plank of 11 rating points despite Chelsea’s 2:1 win over Stoke City in the Premier League. The conceded goal hurt the England skipper’s rating. He now has a tally of 135.93 points and has slipped to 2nd place.
