AS Roma’s Norwegian defender John Arne Riise (pictured) grabbed the winner as his side downed Siena 2:1 in Serie A action yesterday in a spectacular goalscoring series that has now stretched to three games in a row. The Norway international is now 4th in the FTBL ranking of Serie A defenders.
Riise’s winner came in the 89 minute. He had also scored in Norway’s 2:1 win over Macedonia and in the 1:1 draw against Iceland in World Cup 2010 qualifying. The effort has earned him a whopping 40 rating points in our system, boosting his overall FTBL rating to 100.38 points.
Riise is now in 22nd position in the FTBL World Ranking of defenders, as well as the best Norwegian defender at the moment, ahead of nearest rival Brede Hangeland (69.43 points) of Fulham.
