Chelsea’s Ashley Cole (pictured) overtook teammate and skipper John Terry to capture the lead in the FTBL World Ranking of defenders as the Blues yesterday defeated Tottenham Hotspur 3:0 in Premier League action.
Cole scored the Blues’ first and was able to beat the plank of more than 13 rating points he faced in the game. He earned 10.16 rating points for his efforts, boosting his overall FTBL rating to a career-high 145.39 points.
Terry, who was in the starting lineup as well, could not beat his high plank, earning a meager 1.46 rating points. He is now in second place in the world ranking with an overall FTBL rating of 139.76 points.
