Competition between these two players can be legitimately described as exhilarating, considering the money forked out in their transfers, and they compete for the top spot in the FTBL ranking of midfielders, probably, in the world’s most football-crazed nation, Brazil.
For the moment, Kaká (pictured left), who cost Spanish giants Real Madrid 56 million pounds, is in the lead. After the Merengues’ 2:0 win over Villarreal, he is now 10.57 rating points ahead of Diego (pictured right). But Diego has a better opportunity to add to the tally, even though he cost Juventus a little less. The fifth game in his last five is Werder Bremen’s loss to Wolfsburg, in which Diego dropped a single rating point. Kaká, in the meantime, will have a plank of 13.5 rating points to beat in the game against Tenerife.
Just as Real Madrid, Juventus should be in a position to score a huge victory Sunday against Bologna. In that case, who ends up in 1st place in the ranking between Kaká and Diego will be decided, most likely, on the individual contribution of each player. A hat-trick will be nice.
