Liverpool midfielder Yossi Benayoun, who until recently was among the world’s top players in the FTBL ranking, will need a miracle in order to return in that elite group when the Reds travel to Chelsea on Sunday: he will have a daunting plank of 42.70 rating points to beat to advance.
The Israel international set the plank in the Reds’s 4:0 demolition of newly promoted Burnley in Premier League action with a hat-trick. Doing the same with the Blues will understandably be rather hard, but if coach Rafael Benitez’s boys are able to come out on top, they could draw level in the standings.
Benayoun has an overall FTBL rating of 135.41 points at the moment, and he faces exit from the World Top 23 and the Euro Top 23: he will need the football gods on his side on Sunday to avoid both prospects.
