Inter Milan midfielders Wesley Sneijder (pictured left) and Dejan Stankovic (right) yesterday scored each a goal to help the Nerazzurri to a 2:1 home win over Udinese and climb up the FTBL ranking of midfielders in the Italian Serie A.
Stankovic opened the score at the 22nd minute from a powerful drive from the edge of the box that found the far corner of Udinese’s Samir Handanovic. Sneijder returned the advantage (and sealed the win) to the home side in the dying minute of the game.
Stankovic added 18.3 rating points to take his FTBL rating to 108.8 points, while Sneijder picked up 15.44 rating points to boost his to 107.41 points. Stankovic is now in 28th place in our world ranking of midfielders, while Sneijder is in 30th place.
Among Serbian midfielders Stankovic is comfortably in the lead, while Sneijder is second only to Bayern Munich’s Mark van Bommel (120.31 points) in our ranking of Dutch midfielders.
