Manchester United defender and England international Rio Ferdinand (pictured left) is now in 2nd place in the FTBL ranking of England defenders with a tally of 106.63 points, after overtaking Chelsea’s Ashley Cole (91.57 points), just as we predicted. He now trails only John Terry (120.08 points) of….Chelsea.
In addition, Ferdinand is back among the defenders in the Top 23 of top players in the Premier League, a chart from which he was absent for more than 2 months. Ferdinand’s advance is the result of his solid performances for England and United: the 4:3 win over city rivals Manchester City and the 1:0 victory over Wigan Athletic in which Ferdinand was rewarded handsomely in the FTBL system.
The 2:1 win over Bolton Wanderers earned the England international 11 rating points and powered him back in the Top 23. He can now look forward to consolidating those gains has the Red Devils prepare to take on CSKA Moscow in the Champions League.
