Wolfsburg’s Bosnian international Edin Dzeko (216.25 points) will have a difficult time retaining his position as the world’s top player in the FTBL ranking in the coming weeks. Take, for example, the away game at Hetha Berlin on Sunday: he will have to clear a plank of approximately 20 rating points to avoid a slump.
Then, Dzeko will face a plank of 38.29 rating points, which he set in Bosnia Herzegovina’s 2:0 win over Estonia in a recent World Cup 2010 qualifier by scoring one of the goals. His next plank will amount to 30 rating points, which he set in the 2:5 loss to Spain in World Cup 2010 qualifying as well.
Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo (208.94 points) could have used the situation to his advantage, but he has been sidelined for 3 weeks by injury. The gap between the two amounts to around 7 rating points at the moment.
