The stats proved right. Manchester United were unable to buck the trend and fell once again to eternal rivals Liverpool for the 3rd consecutive game.
A defeat was bound to cost Serbian international Nemanja Vidic (pictured right) the leadership in the FTBL ranking of English Premier League defenders, but, in the characteristic Slavic way, Vidic managed to make things even worse for himself by getting sent off. The result is a loss of approximately 20 rating points in the FTBL system and a drop to 4th place in the ranking.
The Serb will face a combined plank of just 33.8 rating points to beat in his next 5 games, but exactly when he will return to play remains unclear: the length of his disqualification has yet to be determined.
