Chelsea skipper John Terry will go into this weekend’s Premier League road game against Bolton Wanderers in pole position in the battle for the #1 spot in the FTBL world ranking of defenders.
With an overall FTBL rating of 120.25 points at the moment, the England international is closing in on #2 ranked Giorgio Cheillini of Juventus (122.14 points) and #1 in the world Carles Puyol (126.83 points) of Barcelona. His plank to beat against Bolton will amount to just over 1 rating point, while his main rivals will be battling much higher hurdles.
Terry set such a low plank in England’s 0:1 loss to Ukraine in World Cup 2010 qualifying. If the Blues end up on top, Terry could earn a solid bonus.
Chiellini will face a plank of a little over 5 rating points when Juve host Napoli in Serie A action tomorrow, while Puyol will face a daunting plank of 14.60 rating points to beat when Barca travel to Osasuna on the same day.
