Real Madrid’s Iker Casillas (pictured left) pushed down rival Víctor Valdés (pictured right) of Barcelona in the FTBL world ranking of goalkeepers after the Merengues’ 2:0 win over Getafe at the Santiago Bernabeu yesterday.
Casillas earned 15.5 rating points in the FTBL system to push his rating up to 112.78 points and capture the 3rd spot in the ranking. He has also claimed back the #1 spot in our ranking of Spanish goalkeepers.
In the meantime, Barcelona’s Valdés conceded a goal as the Catalans were held to a 1:1 draw at Osasuna yesterday. The goal cost Valdés 7.14 points in the FTBL system. He now has an overall rating of 100.24 points and has slipped to 7th position in the world ranking. In our ranking of Spanish goalkeepers, he has dropped from #1 to 3rd position, behind not only Casillas, but also Sevilla’s Andres Palop (104.81 points)
