Real Madrid’s Argentina international Gonzalo Higuaín (pictured right) yesterday scored twice against Getafe to help the Merengues cut Barcelona’s lead in La Liga to just 1 point: he boosted his overall FTBL rating to 121.19 points to join the Top 23 of the league and claim the #1 spot in our world ranking of U-21 midfielders.
The brace netted Higuaín 26.02 rating points in the FTBL system to put him in 2nd place behind Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi (170.77 points) in our ranking of Argentine midfielders.
Higuaín was at the top of the FTBL ranking of U-21 midfielders recently, before he lost the leadership to Werder Bremen’s Mesut Ozil. He might find it easier to stay there this time around, given he will be credited the 1.61 rating points he dropped in Real’s 1:2 loss to Sevilla.
